We told you Xiaomi would be releasing their first ever made in India smartphone, well, the deed has been done! Xiaomi has partnered with Foxconn to produce goods in India (under the make in India plan), with a manufacturing plant in Sri City – in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Their first launch product is a Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime totally assembled in India.

On the specs angle, the made in India Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime features a 4.7 inches screen with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (~312 ppi pixel density). The device boasts 2GB RAM, and 16 GB with memory card support up to 32 GB. An android powered device like all Redmis, featuring Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. There’s an 8 MP shooter with LED flash and a 2 MP selfie shooter in front. There’s 4G LTE connectivity and the device has a quad-core CPU
Packed with all these, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 prime device costs just 110USD, and would be available for purchase on Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and Mi.com in the coming days.
