0

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Mi MIX together with its flagship Mi Note 2 last year, and the phone was a surprise to the general tech ecosystem, as no rumours or teasers were heard of it prior to its launch. The Mi MIX dazzled us with its conceptual bezel-less design which saw it do away with 99% of the top and side bezels, leaving only the bottom bezels to give the smartphone a reasonable grip in the hands.

Since then, many OEMs have launched their own versions of the Mi MIX, and the latest is the UMIDIGI Crystal which was launched only last week. The Crystal bears a striking resemblance to the Mi MIX, but its selling point is its $99 pre-sale price which is sure to attract buyers in their millions around the world.

In this article, we put the UMIDIGI Crystal versus Xiaomi Mi MIX, examining their similarities and differences and picking out which one is better between them, and if the UMIDIGI Crystal is a worthy successor to the Mi MIX at its price level.
