New Nokia 130 feature phone with 1020mAh battery launched in India

Nokia introduced the Nokia 130 feature phone in 2014 before it went under, and now that the company has been revived again via a partnership with HMD Global who has the license to produce Nokia-branded smartphones for at least seven years, the phone has been re-introduced with an upgraded design and new features.

The feature phone was announced together with the Nokia 105 in July in India, and while the latter went on sale immediately, the Nokia 130 has just been launched for sale in the country.

Nokia 130 (2017) Features and Review

Nokia 130 2017

Software

Software isn’t usually a source of concern or attention in feature phones as we are just content with what has always been offered and is still being offered by these miniature smartphones, but so you know, the Nokia 130 runs on the Nokia Series 30+ software platform with preloaded games like the legendary Snake Xenzia and some others that you can run try playing before purchasing them from Gameloft.

Design & Display

The Nokia 130 has a  1.8-inch display with a QQVGA (160 * 120) pixel resolution. It is designed ergonomically to fit snugly into the hands with contours at the right places. The feature phone uses an Island keymat with spaced-out keys to make it easier for you to type.

Memory & Performance

While smartphones are launching with 2GB and upwards of RAM, the Nokia 130 lies low with 4MB of RAM and 8MB of internal storage. These memory specs might look small and outdated, but they are OK and even quite exaggerated for a feature phone.

If you are, however, not content with the default storage and would like to store large files on your feature phone, the Nokia 130 possesses a microSD card slot which allows you to extend the storage capacity up to 32GB with an external microSD card.

Camera

The Nokia 130 has a built-in rear camera with an unknown resolution. It, however, doesn’t come with a selfie camera, refusing to follow the new trend in feature phones.

Battery

Long-lasting battery life is the reason why many love feature phones and the only reason why some would dump their smartphones for a feature phones,  and the Nokia 130 does well in this area with a 1020mAh battery which offers up to 44 hours of music playback and up to a month on standby mode.
