About two weeks ago, Innjoo Mobile listed the Fire 4 Plus, which was announced at the MWC event in February alongside the Innjoo 4, on its website, hinting at its imminent release. Now, the smartphone-manufacturing company has listed the standard variant, the Innjoo Fire 4 on its official website.
The Innjoo Fire 4 is a successor to last year’s Fire 3 which saw a considerable measure of success in the Nigerian smartphone market. The Fire 4 comes with many specifications and features that would make it very hard for you not to take all your money and get a unit at once.
Innjoo Fire 4 Review
As you would expect from my laudable description above, the Innjoo Fire 4 runs on the latest version of the Android operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat. As the company describes, the software has been optimised to increase the speed at which messages are replied, conserve data with a traffic protection mode and shield your eyes from excess light with its night mode.
Design & Display
The Fire 4 has a moderate 5-inch display which doesn’t offer much fanfare in terms of features. It has an HD (1280 * 720) pixel resolution and is covered with 2.5D curved glass which protects it from external elements to some extent and gives the smartphone a beautiful look with the curved edge.
In terms of design, the Innjoo Fire 4 is as much a beauty as its bigger variant, the Fire 4 Plus. The screen has a fingerprint-proof coating which ensures that it stays sparkling clean and clear always. The phone has a full metal body and gives a comfortable feeling in the hands with its curved back design. It offers premium quality as its body was manufactured through an 8-step CNC process.
Memory & Performance
Under the hood, the Innjoo Fire 4 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 process which runs on the 64-bit architecture and can operate at a maximum speed of 1.3GHz. The phone’s graphics are rendered by a Mali-T720 graphics processor.
The phone comes with 2GB of RAM and has 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via an external microSD card.
The Innjoo Fire 4 doesn’t disappoint in this aspect. It comes with a 13MP camera with 5P lens and a f/2.0 aperture at the rear, together with a LED flash. It also sports a 5MP camera with a built-in face beauty mode to style your selfies.
The Fire 4 packs a 2500mAh Li-Po battery which needs to be charged for three hours to achieve a full charge. Even though it is to make the device slim and handy, the battery capacity is quite disappointing…3000mAh is like the standard for smartphones like this.
Connectivity & Hardware
On the hardware side, the Innjoo Fire 4 comes with a metal fingerprint scanner which takes just 0.3 seconds to unlock your phone. It has a fingerprint recognition technology which allows you to record up to five different fingerprints for use in securing the smartphone.
The smartphone comes with a dual Nano-SIM slot and supports 4G LTE networks. It supports USB OTG which allows you to transfer files on the go as well as reverse-charge other smartphones, amidst other connectivity options.
